Why We Built This Site
Maryland gives the public access to many court records under Maryland Rules Title 16, Chapter 900, while county agency records may follow the Maryland Public Information Act. The hard part is figuring out which office holds the file. The Clerk of the Circuit Court handles Circuit Court case files, marriage records, land records, and related services. The Register of Wills handles probate estate records and serves the Orphans' Court. District Court keeps lower trial court files, and law-enforcement records may route through Howard County Police or the Sheriff's Office.

- We cannot give legal advice or explain how a specific case applies to you
- We cannot guarantee that every phone number, fee, or address listed on this site is current right now
Only the issuing court or government office can provide a certified copy with an official seal. We can point you to the right office, but the document has to come from them.
